1999 – Kid Jensen Racing F3000 - Summary - November 15th 1999

Minassian left the West Competition team prior to the start of the 1999 F3000 Championship, teaming up with Kid Jensen Racing. Rumours had suggested that West were effectively running a one car team for Nick Heidfeld with the number two driver not being given a fair shout. The records show that Mario Haberfeld faired poorly alongside Heidfeld in 1999, when he failed to score a point and did not qualify for many races. Unsurprisingly the F3000 title fell to Nick Heidfeld.

With the fledging Kid Jensen Racing, it took until just the fifth round for Minassian to secure his first win in the series leading from his first Pole Position to the finish in dominant fashion.

The following race in Austria saw Minassian back on the podium with a fine third position, a result he would repeat in the penultimate race of the season at Spa Francorchamps.
