No 2 Peugeot HDi FAP on track at Le Mans 2010

As dawn breaks over the Le Mans circuit the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP No 2 of Minassian/Sarrazin/Montagny is still in the lead after 15 hours of racing and is managing its lead. The gap has steadied but the race is far from decided. Car No 1
continues to edge towards the podium. Team Oreca’s Peugeot remains sixth.

The Race: Stéphane Sarrazin, in car No 2 and Anthony Davidson, behind the wheel of car No 1 hand over to Nicolas Minassian and Alexander Wurz respectively, after a quadruple relay and nearly 3 hours in the cockpit. For the Peugeot No 2, the objective of this chilly night, 3000 kilometres after the start, has been to control Audis No 8 and 9, who have moved up to second and third places.

As night turns to day the gaps steady. Fourth, car No 1 continues to push in an effort to approach the podium. From 5h00 the two cars chasing the No 2 Peugeot attempt to up the pace but Nicolas Minassian responds to maintain control. Car No 4 of Team Oreca remains 6 th but gains ground on the fifth placed competitor. At 5h37 Minassian posts his cars fastest lap of the race.
