| No 2 Peugeot on track at Le Mans 2010 |
Six hours into the race the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP No1 of Marc Gené, Anthony Davidson and Alexander Wurz leads ahead of the No2, driven by Nicolas Minassian, Franck Montagny and Stéphane Sarrazin. The lead swaps between the No 1 driven by Anthony Davidson and the No 2 piloted by Stéphane Sarrazin to the rhythm of the refuelling stops which occur every 13 laps.
The Englishman increases the lead to about 5 seconds. At 19h43, Alex Wurz takes over the Peugeot No 1. The two Peugeot 908 HDi FAPs have covered over 1000 kilometres in less than five hours of racing.
Alexander Wurz continues where his team mate left off and continues to pull out a few
seconds on Nicolas Minassian, aboard car No 2. At 20h50, when the safety car comes out for the second time, the gap goes up from 20 seconds to 2 minutes 20 seconds.
Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot n°2): “Everything is going fine at the moment. The car is
handling like it was in practice and currently Peugeot’s rivals are a little way behind. You need to be careful and not get carried away. It is very close between car No 1 and us. The refuellings change the positions but we are running our own race and not worry about others.”
